Enoch T. Collins letter : Downieville, Calif., to George W. Collins : ALS, 1853 March 26.

Letter from Enoch T. Collins to his nephew, George W. Collins in Newbury Port compliments him on the grammatically correct and interesting letter he had recently received from him. The elder Collins describes his log cabin and mining life in Belmont and nearby Downieville, his neighbors, price of milk and eggs, his cooking, the weather, etc. He ends by agreeing to try to get an Indian bow and arrow for his nephew.
